Navigating health insurance choices can be overwhelming at times. My goal is to help you choose the best plan for yourself and your lifestyle. At this time, there are only two options for health insurance other than through an employer; regular health care (Affordable Care Act) or HealthShares.
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) now affects everything. So if you get an individual plan directly from an insurance company or on the health exchange government website, they all follow the ACA rules.
If you elect to get one of the four companies offering a healthshare, be sure you understand their rules. They are not legal health insurance companies and generally they do medical underwriting up front. They generally have pre-existing conditions for a period of time and they have other requirements that may be different from traditional health coverage.
As a broker, I represent nearly all major health insurance companies, so I can help you find the plan that best fits your needs at no charge to you. This can usually be done over the phone in less than 45 minutes. I also can assist with short term care (for example, an interim 60 day period) or foreign travel care. For more information, please call by phone or fill out a Request-Quote form here.
If we meet in person, be sure to ask about my prescription discount card. Many of my clients have found the discount card to provide savings while purchasing their normal prescriptions.
